County Roscommon , Ireland. It is located on the N5 road in the North-West of Co. Roscommon. The Irish meaning of the town name is 'The way (Bealach) of the little oak (Doirín)'.The town of Ballaghaderreen was located in
County Mayo until1899 , when it was transferred to Roscommon by theLocal Government (Ireland) Act 1898 . Gaelic games supporters are split between those who support their Roscommon county team and the localGaelic Athletic Association team which plays in the Mayo league.
