unincorporated Manatee and Hardee counties, and passes throughFlorida scrubland , from Parrish to near Bowling Green. The road is only two lanes wide over its entire route. It also cuts through theManatee River basin. The road crosses Horse Creek and theNorth Fork of the Manatee River . It provides access to theTampa Bay area from Hardee County. Inside Duette, "State Road 62" meets with the intersection of Keentown Road. Keentown Road is a 1.8-miledirt road that leads into the hamlet of Keentown, a farming community. They're only 3 major junctions on this highway, SR 37, SR 39, and CR 663. Just a blockeast of therailroad tracks is CR 663. It provides an alternative to SR 70 of U.S. Route 17. It is 2 lanes wide, paved, and along railroad tracks. It is also an alternative to SR 72. 5 mileseast of Parrish is Parrish Lake. It is home to apower plant and aboat ramp . However, Pariish Lake is an artificial lake. In Hardee County, the road does not turn to the left or right for 14 miles.
