Cinta Remaja

Cinta Remaja (Teenage Love) is an Indonesian prime time sinetron/drama which tell a story about a girl named Kezia.

Plot

Kezia is the smartest girl at school and has some part time jobs, some of them are working in hotel to clean the swimming pool and selling herself-made accessories at school.

One day, Kezia met Marcel, a son of the new head police office in her town who is a rebel and often make his parents busy and embarrassing them. Firstly they often quarrel each other just over little things. But one night, Marcel visited Kezia in her home who is sick because his naughty job and just drunk a bottle of water he doesn't have any idea about the ingredients. Since he was careless, he slept beside Kezia in her bed.

Unfortunately, in the morning Kezia's mother found both sleep at the same bed and got mad. Then their parents agreed to make them in a marriage relation.

Although getting married, Marcel still loved a girl named Gina, who just thought that Marcel is her younger brother. But when Gina broke-off with her boyfriend, she realized Marcel's love and wanted him coming back to her. In the same time, Kezia get close to Berto, a handsome movie producer who fell in love with her. Otherwise, Kezia started to love Marcel. Gina and Berto worked together to separate them. They get success. Kezia went away from Marcel and accepted Berto as her fiance. But when Kezia and Berto were going to go abroad, Kezia escaped from Berto and also Marcel.

Kezia hid herself from both guys for years. She began to make a company in making accessories. Marcel had become a chief of police officer, replaced his father's position and being famous for his brave in any case even from the government. While, Berto succeed in film industries. But he still hid the truth, that Kezia had never with him.

In the Alya and Billy's wedding party, their best friends at school, Kezia came with pretend. However, Kezia had been found by Berto and Marcel. At that time, Kezia lied that she has married with another man. But Marcel couldn't trust that story. In the other side, Marcel who came to Kezia's home found several things proved that Kezia has never forget him. How about Kezia's story then? Who will be chosen by Kezia?

Sassy Girl Chun Hyang (SGCH) / Delightful Girl Choon Hyang is one of the most favourite KDramas in the era of Korean Wave that came through Asia and America recently. First aired by KBS in South Korea in the early 2005, SGCH became the highest rated dramas in South Korea during that current periode.

SGCH is a modern adaptation from classic true story of a girl named Chun Hyang who lived in the Joseon period. At that time, women didn't have rights to state their personal choice. But Chun Hyang was brave to reject the proposal from the current Governor, Byun Hak Doo, to be his wife and chose to go to jail for the man she love, Lee Mong Ryong, who had been doing final examination in the capital city of Korea. Then, Lee Mong Ryong came to save Chun Hyang and made jailed Byun Hak Doo.

The modern adaptation of Chun Hyang focused on this love story. Chun Hyang (played by Han Chae Young) was depicted as a smart, kind, hard worker, talented in designing accessories and high spirited high school girl. Born from a poor family and a mother who was a night club singer, Chun Hyang fought hard to keep on the top rank at school while doing some part time jobs to fulfil the household needs and to save for tuition fees.

While Lee Mong Ryong (Jae Hee) came to Namwon as a new student from Seoul who liked to make troubles. By a little accident in the town park, Chun Hyang and Mong Ryong met for the first time. This continued at school. When visiting Chung Hyang who got sick because of his bad done, Mong Ryong drank a local beer but thought it was just fruit juice. Then he slept at the side of the sick Chun Hyang until the next morning.

Not only Chung Hyang's mother got angry when she knew that, but also Mong Ryong's parents felt so embarrassed. They asked both to get married and keep going to school. On the other side, Mong Ryong still loved his old neighbour and schoolmate, Chae Rin. When he stated his feeling and got refused by Chae Rin, both decided to get married. Chae Rin started to miss Mong Ryong and asked him to come back to her.

Otherwise, Chung Hyang got shympatize from a handsome, rich, but cold hearted director of an entertainment company named Byun Hak Doo. When The shympatize was coming to be such an obsession, Director Byun tried a lot of ways to separate Chun Hyang and Mong Ryong that step by step began to love each other.

So many disturbances from Chae Rin and Director Byun just made them closer and they decided to hold a wedding party. Director Byun couldn't accept this situation and designed a trap for Mong Ryong in order to send him in prison. He got Chun Hyang's promise to leave Mong Ryong, to be his fiance and to join him to Japan as the requirements to free Mong Ryong. Chun Hyang divorced Mong Ryong and went into the plane to Japan with Director Byun. But what happened, she ran away from him and started her new life, running an accessories business and then being a boss of a big company in Busan.

Time went by, Mong Ryong was an attorney now and still thought that Chun Hyang was in Japan. Director Byun also kept looking Chun Hyang and finally found her while she came to her best friends' high school wedding party, Dan Hee and Ji Yuk, in secret.

Director Byun asked Chun Hyang to come back to him but got refused and Chun Hyang threatened to run away again outside Korea. Mong Ryong found Chun Hyang then and found memorable things to prove that she truly still loved him very much. He also began investigating the case in his past. Finally, in a press conference, Director Byun confessed what he'd done to Mong Ryong and let Chun Hyang and Mong Ryong being together again.

As a comedy romantic genre, SGCH successed to unify a comedy plot drama with some touch hearted scenes, supported by nice soundtracks. The parody of several famous movies and series, also little legend version scenes in the end of each episode, coloured this drama.

Controversy

The similarity between both of the dramas made a controversion for the fans. SGCH's fans think, Cinta Remaja is an illegal version of SGCH because there is no widely publication of permission statement to remake SGCH in local version. But Cinta Remaja's fans think it's not a kind of plagiarism. Unfortunately, both SCTV and MD entertainment don't give their comment about this problem until the end of the airing of Cinta Remaja.

The storyline of Cinta Remaja tends to be different from the overall synopsis of the SCTV's website, starting in the 5th episode and become more and more different until the last episode.

The last episode is telling about how Marcel wanted to get divorced from Kezia and showed his love for Gina to everybody. Kezia who loves Marcel couldn't help to go out from house of Marcel's parents. When Kezia disappeared from his eyes, Marcel realized that he really loves her and broke off with Gina. He came to Kezia's house and stated his feeling where Kezia felt the same way.They kept into their marriage forever.

This story is not exist in the earliest synopsis of Cinta Remaja and has just come suddenly as the last episode.
