The mailman delivers

Jon then comes out, and the mailman tells him that he has a letter for him from alawyer . The letter informs Jon that his cousin Norbert has died and that Jon is mentioned in his will.
Jon, Garfield and Norbert’sbusiness partner (Elmwood Krass) meet with the lawyer for the reading of the will. The will states that Krass receivesnothing , Jon merely receives a “hello”, and Garfield receives theKlopman diamond . The lawyer then notes that the diamond has acurse ; regardless, Garfield and Jon take it home, and Krass is determined to get it.
Krass follows Jon and Garfield home, and he demands that Garfield sell the diamond to him; Garfield refuses. He then throws aball for Odie to fetch, but the ball ricochets off a picture on thewall , which lands on the top of therecliner , whose bottom jolts out and hits thefootstool , which in turn hits Garfield with so much force that he crashes into abookcase and hits the wall; after which most of thebook s land on hishead . A cement mixer then pourscement through thewindow , which lands on Garfield.
Krass comes to thedoor again wanting to purchase the diamond, to which Garfield refuses again. After he slams the door, the door lands on him; then theceiling also collapses on him. He then decides to sell the diamond after all and accepts a check from Krass. After Krass leaves, he is caught in the middle of a pileup involving several cars and airplanes, followed by being hit by agrand piano and asteamroller ; a lighting bolt then chases him down thestreet . Jon then takes Krass’ check to pay for all the house damage, and Garfield laments about not having hisinheritance , as well as the mail being late (the mailman is still hanging from the tree).Goofs
*Garfield scoffs, “‘Bad
luck .’ That could’ve happened to anybody.” before anything bad actually happens to him.Quotes
Garfield: You’re bored, Odie. Wanna do something?
Odie: Mm-hmm.
Garfield: Okay, I’ll give you achoice . Either we can discuss the socioeconomic status of theworld — ["Cheerfully"] —or, I’ll throw a ball, and you fetch it! ["Odie runs off and scampers back with a ball"] Always a sucker for theintellectual stuff.References
