Fruit Shoot

Fruit Shoot

Robinson's Fruit Shoot is a juice drink marketed to children and produced by Britvic drinks and sold in the United Kingdom. It has been positioned as a somewhat healthier alternative to fizzy drinks such as Coca Cola, with partnerships with The Scouts, and no added sugar. Its inclusion with McDonalds Happy Meals instead of carbonated drinks has been cited in the firm's representation to Parliament on its healthier eating initiatives, where it is described as a "high juice, no added sugar drink" [ [http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm200405/cmselect/cmenvfru/469/4062915.htm www.publications.parliament.uk "high juice, no added sugar drink"] ] (the juice content is 11%) [ [http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qn4153/is_20051125/ai_n15876582 www.findarticles.com juice content 11%] ]

Robinsons Fruit Shoot contains only natural flavours and colours and is available in five flavours; Strawberry, Apple, Orange & Peach, Tropical (in No Added Sugar only) and Blackcurrant & Apple. Each flavour comes in 300ml single bottles and multipacks of four or eight 200ml bottles, in both regular and No Added Sugar variants, except Tropical which is only available with No Added Sugar.

Although it contains no sugar, it contains the artificial sweeteners Aspartame and Acesulfame K, as well as other additives including acidity regulator Trisodium Citrate, Dimethyl Dicarbonate, plus colourings and Malic Acid. It is sold in a sports-style bottle, and since its launch in 2000 has become the best-selling children's ready-to-drink still beverage in the UK [ [http://www.britvic.com/InvKeyStrengths.aspx www.britvic.com, best-selling children's ready-to-drink still beverage in the UK] ] , beating better-established brands such as Ribena.
