Manteno Township is one of seventeen townships in Kankakee County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2000 census, its population was 7,846^[1], which makes it the third largest township in the county. It was formed from Rockville Township on March 12, 1855.

Geography

Manteno Township is in the northern tier of townships in the county. According to the United States Census Bureau, Manteno Township covers an area of 36.76 square miles (95.2 km²); of this, 36.66 square miles (94.9 km²) (99.75 percent) is land and 0.09 square miles (0.23 km²) (0.25 percent) is water.
