Companiganj (Bengali: কোম্পানীগঞ্জ) is an Upazila of Sylhet District in the Division of Sylhet, Bangladesh.

Geography

Companiganj is located at 25°04′45″N 91°45′15″E / 25.0791°N 91.7542°E / 25.0791; 91.7542 . It has 13620 units of house hold and total area 278.55 km².

Demographics

As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Companiganj has a population of 85169. Males constitute are 51.86% of the population, and females 48.14%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 39684. Companiganj has an average literacy rate of 12.3% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate.[1]
