Barlekha ( _bn. বড়লেখা) is an Upazila of Maulvibazar District in the Division of Sylhet, Bangladesh.

Geography

Barlekha is located at coord|24.7083|N|92.2000|E| . It has 33006 household units and total area 501.65 km².Madhav Kunda (waterfall) is the most famous natural attraction located in Barlekha. There is an abandoned oil field of Burma Eastern Oil company in Kesrigul area. It was a fully functional oil field but the British had to seal this off following a disastrous oil flood in which crude oil burst out of the well and flooded the surrounding area. Asia's largest marshland Hakaluki haor is situated in Barlekha.Fact|date=December 2007
