Western Flyer were an American country music band founded in 1993 in the state of Texascite book |title=The Billboard Book of Top 40 Country Hits |last=Whitburn |first=Joel |authorlink=Joel Whitburn |year=2004 |pages=380] by Danny Myrick (lead vocals, bass guitar), Chris Marion (keyboards, vocals), T. J. Klay (harmonica, mandolin, vocals), Bruce Gust (drums, vocals), Steve Charles (lead guitar, vocals), and Roger Helton (acoustic guitar, banjo, vocals). The band took their name from a brand of bicycle.

Signed to the independent Step One Records label in 1993, Western Flyer recorded a self-titled debut in 1994, followed by "Back in America" two years later. These two albums produced a total of six singles for the band. Among these were "Cherokee Highway", which gained media attention for its story of racial violence, [cite web |url=http://nl.newsbank.com/nl-search/we/Archives?p_product=NewsLibrary&p_multi=DSNB&d_place=DSNB&p_theme=newslibrary2&p_action=search&p_maxdocs=200&p_topdoc=1&p_text_direct-0=0F360C88DA2F1666&p_field_direct-0=document_id&p_perpage=10&p_sort=YMD_date:D&s_trackval=GooglePM |title=Country song dares to tackle racism head-on |accessdate=2008-08-04 |date=1995-02-18 |work=Deseret News] as well as their highest-charting single, "What Will You Do with M-E?", a #32 in late 1996.

The band broke up not long after their second album. Marion joined the Little River Band, a rock band, in 2004. Danny Myrick signed to a songwriting contract with 3 Ring Circus Music, co-writing two singles that charted for other artists in 2007: "International Harvester" by Craig Morgan and "Loud" by Big & Rich.
