- Pemberton Volcanic Belt
The Pemberton Volcanic Belt is an eroded
Miocene volcanic belt at a low angle nearMount Meager ,British Columbia ,Canada . The Garibaldi and Pemberton volcanic belts appear to merge into a single belt, although the Pemberton is older then the Garibaldi Volcanic Belt. TheSilverthrone Caldera , a dissectedcaldera complex farther to the northwest, was episodically active during both Pemberton and Garibaldi stages of volcanism. The belt is one of the northern extensions of the Cascade Volcanic Arc. It formed as a result ofsubduction of theExplorer Plate to its west, which is a remnant of the much largerFarallon Plate .Volcanoes
The volcanoes within the belt include:
*Silverthrone Caldera
**Mount Silverthrone
