Wesley A. D'Ewart

Wesley Abner D'Ewart (October 1, 1889 – September 2, 1973) was a U.S. Republican politician.

He was born in Worcester, Massachusetts as the son of William John D'Ewart and Mary Elizabeth Barnard. In a special election due to the death of James F. O'Connor, D'Ewart was elected as a Republican to the United States House of Representatives from Montana and served from June 5, 1945 to January 3, 1955. He ran for the United States Senate from Montana in 1954 against liberal incumbent James Edward Murray.

After a hard-fought campaign, D'Ewart narrowly lost the election by a vote of 114,591 to 112,863 [1]. He died in Livingston, Montana, aged 83.
