Richard "Dick" M. Keith (15 May 1933 Belfast – 28 February 1967 Bournemouth) was a footballer who played at right-back for Newcastle United between 1956 and 1964. He played 233 games and scored 2 goals.Known as "Dick" to his team mates, he was a popular player with the Geordies and was made club captain in 1962.
His career saw him play for Linfield F.C., Newcastle United, A.F.C. Bournemouth and Weymouth F.C.. He played for Weymouth up until his death in 1967, when he died in an accident at a builders yard.
He was also part of the great Northern Ireland team that played in the 1958 FIFA World Cup. He made 23 appearances for his country, and also won the Irish Player of the Year 1954 and the Irish Cup in 1953.
Tragically he was killed in 1967 aged only 33 when an automatic garage door he was dismantling collapsed on top of him at a builders yard.
