The White Widower is a fictional Black Comics superhero created by John Willis and Howard Smith. First appearing in "The Powers of Light" #06 (Sept. 1990), whilst little known outside comic book collectors, The White Widower comics are still popular and sell well.

When the character first featured there was some controversy due to the use of a fallen Angel as a superhero, as they are usually associated with demons and villains, though the idea was later used in the DC Comics Fallen Angel series.

Several White Widower comic book series, the first being "The Rise of the White Widower".

Fictional character biography

Early years

The White Widower started out as an Angel in Heaven, as one of God's soldiers he was trained above others with skills that would be needed if any demons tried to overthrow paradise. When Lucifer tried to overthrow God, The White Widower went to his side, and was cast out when the mutiny was squashed. Landing on Earth in 1999, The White Widower decided to repent his sins, and to use his heavenly powers for good, instead of the evil used by his fellow Fallen Angels.
