Broadway Junction (Brooklyn)

Broadway Junction is a multi-use neighborhood in northeastern Brooklyn, defined by Broadway to the north, Atlantic Avenue to the south, Rockaway Avenue to the west, and Van Sinderen Avenue to the east. Broadway Junction was originally known as Jamaica Pass, a name that became famous in colonial times as the route the British Army took to travel between southern Brooklyn and Gowanus during the Battle of Long Island .

The name refers to the junction of two Long Island Railroad lines, the Canarsie, Jamaica, and Fulton Street subway lines, Atlantic Avenue; East New York Avenue; Broadway; Jamaica Avenue; Fulton Street; and several smaller streets. Nearby is the Cemetery of the Evergreens, and Highland Park .
