Moti Lal Nehru College (MLNC) is situated on the south campus of the University of Delhi. It offers courses in Science, Humanities, Arts and Commerce disciplines. The Economics and the History departments have recently been renovated and have new faculty.

The college is named after freedom fighter Pandit Motilal Nehru. Established in 1964 with only 200 students, it now has about 100 faculty members and 2,000 students. The College was shifted in its new building with sprawling campus, extensive lawns, a large Administrative Block, Library and well equipped laboratories and air-conditioned Computer Science Laboratory in 1989.

Principal Dr P.Sen Gupta is a well known academician in science field. Dr. Ramesh Sharma, who was the principal till 2010 is a well-known Hindi poet who writes under the pen name 'Divik Ramesh'.

The college has large grounds and a well stocked library. The boxing, yoga and choreography teams have won many competitions in the past few years. The college offers online and evening courses as well as a more traditional daytime curriculum.

In 2006 the Department of History organized a national seminar/workshop on "Exploring Delhi", which was a huge success, getting recognition from the Prime Minister and the President of India. In 2007 the department produced four first divisioners in the History honours course. History department has turned out to be one of the known face of the university. In 2007, it was named Antiquity by the department and since then many national seminars and films screenings have been organised. Other well known faculty in the college are Economics' Faculty and Political Science Faculty which attract students from all over the country. Recently, college introduced a new faculty for the movie screening called Bioscope. A new state-of-art computer lab and seminar room has been constructed by the college authority for the over all development of the students. In 2007-08 session, the college participated in exchange program with Pusan University of Foreign Studies, Korea which was appreciated by the Delhi Government.

The cultural society of the college is a widely acknowledged society within Delhi University with their teams winnings various competitions on national level. In fact the western dance group team of the college has won many competitions in the past few years. which includes participation in institutes like IIT Mumbai, IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, BITS Pilani, Delhi University Nexus etc. Moti Lal Nehru College was one of the nine colleges which participated in the Sahitya Akadami's poetry competition. Candidates who have fared well in the sports and have certificates related to swimming, basketball, football, tennis, boxing, judo, volleyball are given special sports quota preference. The college has been lifting the coveted Chancellor's Trophy for ten years.
