"The Lost Letter" ( _ru. Пропа́вшая гра́мота, "Propavshaya gramota"), or "A Disappeared Diploma", is the first Soviet traditionally-animated feature film, directed by the Brumberg sisters and Lamis Bredis in 1945. It was produced at the Soyuzmultfilm studio in Moscow and is based on the story with the same name by Nikolai Gogol.

Plot

A Cossack journeys to St. Petersburg in order to give a letter to the Tsarina. A series of adventures and obstacles stand in his way, but the Cossack overcomes them and fulfills his duty.
