Asian University of Bangladesh ( _bn. এশিয়ান বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) or AUB is a private university of Bangladesh. It was established on 4 January,1996 by the Private University Act 1992. [ [http://www.sai.uni-heidelberg.de/workgroups/bdlaw/1992-a34.htm Private University Act, 1992] ] AUB has three campuses in Uttara, Dhanmondi, and Rajshahi. The university is affiliated by University Grants Commission (Bangladesh) and managed by Asian University Trust.
Academic programmes
AUB comprises five schools:
*The School of Business.
*The School of Science and Engineering (previously The School of Sciences and Technology).
*The School of Social Sciences.
*The School of Arts.
*The School of Education and Training.
Academic session
The university provides three semesters in an academic year. The duration of each semester is four months.
*Spring: January - April
*Summer: May - August
*Fall: September - December
