Asian University for Women is an international university in Bangladesh. It is located in Chittagong, port city of Bangladesh.

History

An international network of proven leaders in the educational, financial, and developmental sectors have guided to develop this university. The Asian University for Women Support Foundation (AUWSF), incorporated as a non-profit organization based in the United States, serves as the main planning and fund raising organization for this painstaking effort.

The Asian University for Women is based in Bangladesh. Its subsidized education program, the [http://www.asian-university.org/academicPrograms/accessAcademy.htm Access Academy] , opened in April 2008 with an inaugural class of 130 young women from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, India, Pakistan and Cambodia. Many of the Access Academy's students come from geographically or economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Some are the first in their families to get a university education. AUW will offer a five-year program leading to a combined Bachelor's and Graduate degree, drawing on the best international and regional models of teaching and learning and a faculty recruited from throughout the region and the world.
