Miguel Flaño Bezunartea (born 19 August 1984 in Pamplona, Navarre) is a Spanish footballer who plays for CA Osasuna as a central defender.

A Spain under-23 international, his twin brother Javier is also a professional footballer, and both were brought up at local Osasuna.

Football career

A product of hometown CA Osasuna's youth ranks, Flaño made his first team debut on 18 September 2004, during a La Liga match against Real Betis, a 3–2 home win, finishing his debut season with eight appearances.

On 9 June 2007, he scored his first goal for Osasuna, in a 5–0 success at Betis,^[1] adding three appearances in the club's UEFA Cup semifinal run.

From then on, Flaño became an essential defensive fixture with the side, as twin brother Javier, whom had been a starter from 2005–07, gradually lost his importance, leaving the side after 2008–09, where Miguel netted four times in 33 matches, in a narrow escape from relegation.
