Rubén González Rocha, Rubén (born 29 January 1982 in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia), is a Spanish football player who currently plays for Celta de Vigo of "Segunda División", as a central defender.

Club career

A youth product of "La Liga" powerhouse Real Madrid, Rubén would only amass 4 league first-team appearances in three seasons, his debut coming on May 10, 2002, in a 3-0 loss at Deportivo de La Coruña.

In a September 2, 2003, unlucky Rubén was taken out of an away match with Sevilla FC (eventual 1-4 defeat), after just 25 minutes and an own goal. He finished 2003-04 on loan to German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Mönchengladbach.

After a 2004-05 loan period with Albacete Balompie (which finished last), Rubén returned to Real Madrid, spending the next season with the B team, in "Segunda División".

In 2006-07, he finally developped as a top flight player, with Racing de Santander, helping the Cantabria team to finish 10th, while netting his first goals in the first division, in consecutive 2-1 wins, at Real Mallorca and with Villarreal CF. However, he returned the following season to the second level, joining Celta de Vigo.
