He has previously played for Sunderland and Darlington in England, as well as Scottish team Aberdeen and Danish teams Silkeborg IF abd Odense BK.
Preece signed a one-year contract, with the option to extend the contract by a further year.
On February 9, 2011, he was announced as a columnist for the popular Scottish football blog "Scheidt's Footballing Miscellany".[1]
