Matthew Done (born 22 June 1988) is an English footballer who plays for Barnsley as a winger.

Career

He attended the Marches School and Technology College in his home town of Oswestry.

He started his career at Wrexham and broke into the first team squad at the start of the 2006–07 season, having made a handful of substitute appearances the previous season. His debut came a month after his 17th birthday, as a substitute in a home defeat to Doncaster Rovers. He made his full debut on the last day of the season against Darlington.

His first goal for Wrexham came against Grimsby Town,[2] and he went on to score against Sheffield Wednesday during a 4–1 win in the League Cup.[3]

He was offered a new contract by Wrexham in May 2008 following the club's relegation to the Football Conference.[4] However, he choose to stay in the Football League and signed for League One club Hereford United for an undisclosed fee in June 2008.[5] He scored his first goal for the club against Swindon Town in the Football League Trophy on 8 October 2008.[6]

He signed for League One newcomers Rochdale on the 31 July 2010 on a six month contract. He scored his first goal for the club in the Football League Trophy against Port Vale on 31 August 2010.[7] His contract was subsequently extended until the end of the season. On 16th May 2011 it was announced Matt had signed a new contact until the end of the 2011/12 season.

Just a month after signing a new contract with Rochdale, Done signed for Championship club Barnsley on 21 June 2011, along with Scott Wiseman.[8] [9]
