April 1 ,1889 - Due to the municipal status enforcement, the town of Fukuoka and 13 villages were formed within Sōsa District.(1 town, 13 villages)
*December 8 ,1915 - The town of Fukuoka renamed to the town of Yokaichiba.
*November 3 ,1948 - The villages of Yoshida, Iitaka, Toyowa, and Hiyoshi, Katori District moved to Sōsa District.(1 town, 17 villages)
*March 31 ,1954 - The town of Yokaichiba and the villages of Heiwa, Tsubakimi, Sosa, Toyosaka, Suga, Kyoko, Yoshida, Iitaka, and Toyowa merged to form the town of Yokaichiba.(1 town, 8 villages)
*May 3 ,1954 - The villages of Nanjo, Toyo, Shirahama, and Hiyoshi merged to form the town of Hikari.(2 towns, 4 villages)
*June 1 ,1954 - The villages of Kyowa and Toyohata merged into the town of Asahi in Kaijo District.(2 towns, 2 villages)
*July 1 ,1954 - The town of Yokaichiba gained city status to become the city of Yokaichiba.(1 town, 2 villages)
*July 17 ,1954 - The villages of Sakae and Noda merged to form the new town of Nosaka.(2 towns)
*January 23 ,2006 - The town of Nosaka merged with the city of Yokaichiba to form the city of Sōsa.(1 town)
*March 27 ,2006 - The town of Hikari merged with the town of Yokoshiba, Sanbu District, to form the town of Yokoshibahikari, Sanbu District. Sōsa District was dissolved as the result of the merger.Related Articles
