Krasnovishersk

Krasnovishersk ( _ru. Красновишерск) is a town in Perm Krai, Russia, located on the western slopes of the Northern Urals 315 km north of Perm. Vishera River flows through the town. Population: 18,260 (2002 Census); 18,652 (1989 Census). It is served by Krasnovishersk Airport.

The town grew out of the settlement of Vizhaikha ( _ru. Вижаиха). Town status since 1942.

A memorial to Varlam Shalamov was erected in Krasnovishersk in June 2007, the site of his first labor camp.
