Stephen Irwin (architect)

Stephen Irwin RAIC, RIBA, OAA, BArch, MArch (born c. 1944) is a Canadian architect and principal partner of Shore Tilbe Irwin + Partners in Toronto, Ontario.

Irwin graduated from Harvard University, received the Prix de Rome, and became a member of the Royal College of Art. He began his design career in 1962 in Sweden, for Gronwall-Hirsch, and worked for one year in London, England, for Hugh Casson, Condor & Partners. He returned to Canada in 1965, where he joined Shore & Moffat (now Shore Tilbe Irwin + Partners), and has been a partner of the firm since 1971.

Irwin's portfolio includes numerous projects, such as the Metropolitan Toronto Police Headquarters, the Xerox Research Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, the Queen's University Bioscience Complex, the Purdy's Wharf Office Complex in Nova Scotia, and the Mississauga Central Library.
