After being accepted to
RMIT s Bachelor of Journalism course, Parks became very involved incommunity television taking on the hosting role for three seasons of "Raucous" (a live-to-air music show), and also became both producer and presenter of "Newsline" and "Pluck". It was during her time at RMIT that Parks was asked to join the team atFox Footy and present 26 episodes of "Young Guns", a show focusing on the lives and careers of young footballers.Returning to university after her time on Fox Footy, Parks finished her degree whilst still doing various freelancing journalism and presenting activities. These included times at
The Age newspaper,Media Giants and theEssendon Football Club , as well as hostingChannel 31 's "Real Time Racing", and conducting a series of interviews over three years at the annualFalls Festival for a historical DVD.Parks' latest project saw her presenting a children's DVD, "
Talking Time ", released commercially September 2006 in Australia, Canada, USA and NZ.
