- Davidson Current
-
In oceanography, the Davidson Current is a coastal countercurrent of the Pacific Ocean running north along the western coast of the United States from Baja California Mexico to northern California to at least latitude 40°N. It prevails during the winter months, generally from September through February. In these months, changes in atmospheric pressure conditions of the Pacific Ocean bring southwesterly wind to the California coast which cause a northward surface current inland of the California Current.
