- Blackfoot Sue
Blackfoot Sue was a British
rock band formed in the early 1970s by the brothers Tom and David Farmer, and Eddie Golga. A single released in August 1972, "Standing in the Road", reached #4 on theUK Singles Chart . Lack of further tangible success left them labelled asone-hit wonders .Later line-ups
The band stopped performing live in 1977, but under the name Liner recorded a studio
album , "Liner", in 1979. The fourth member of the band, Alan Jones, later emigrated to Sydney,Australia .The studio-based band Liner recorded their
eponymous album onAtlantic Records . Produced byArif Mardin , it was recorded in both the UK and the U.S., using topsession musician s from both sides of the Atlantic, includingMel Collins ,Dick Morrissey ,Frank Vicari andRonnie Cuber onsaxophone s andCissy Houston , Maretha Stewart and Beverly Ingram on background vocals.By 1984, they had formed another band, as a trio, Outside Edge, and recording a further four albums under that name.
In 1993, the band went back on the road, modifying the original Blackfoot Sue to BFS.
