Delaware Christian School is a K-12 Christian, non-denominational, private parochial school. It is located on Belle Avenue in Delaware, Ohio and has around 340 students.[2] There is a 1:14 teacher:pupil ratio and by race, the school is 96% of white (non-Hispanic) descent.[3]

History

Delaware Christian School was opened in 1973 with only a kindergarten class. They graduated their first high school class in 1984 and has been a member of the Association of Christian Schools International since 1985 and in 1995 was recognized by the Ohio Department of Education.[4]

Policies

The mission statement of the school is 'Delaware Christian School exists to assist Christian parents in training their children to glorify God in every area of life by providing a Bible-based education'.

Educational standards

Seventy-five percent of high school graduates attend four year colleges or universities. Standardized tests administered in elementary school indicate that the classes are 1.7 ahead of the national median and that the average student is in the 79th percentile.[5]

Athletics

The Delaware Christian Eagles compete in the Mid-Ohio Christian Athletic League (MOCAL) along with Madison Christian, Fairfield Christian, Gahanna Christian, Grove City Christian, Tree of Life Christian, and Northside Christian.
