Templeogue College is a secondary school, located in the Templeogue area of Dublin, Ireland. It is on the R112 and is within walking distance of Terenure, Templeogue and is accessible by numerous Dublin Bus services including: 54A, 15A, 15B, 49, 150, 74/A, and 65/B

General Information

Templeogue College, one of Ireland's state-run schools, was founded in 1966 and is run by the Holy Ghost Fathers, a Catholic religious order.

The school's motto is, in Latin: "In Virtute Scientia" ('education rooted in values'; alternatively, 'knowledge is strength').

There are 630 day pupils and the school boasts almost 50 teachers. The school has an active rugby team and has twice reached the finals of the Leinster Schools Junior Cup, in 1980 and 1985, however they were not successful in either. In 2002 a team visited South Africa, the first state school in Ireland to do so. The school's colours are red and blue. The college's principal is Mr. Kevin O'Brien. He is assisted by Mr. Eddie Guilmartin.

The school offers a number of sports including Rugby union, basketball, athletics, Gaelic football, soccer, and hurlingFact|date=April 2007. The concert band is notable, with 60 boys involved.The concert band plays at each annual prize giving sermony.In 2009, they will be playing at the band championship.the band gets together each tuesday and thursday night for 2 hours each.Fact|date=May 2007. Senior debating teams take part in Toastmasters. There are 30 elements to the transition year programme including the European Computer Driving LicenceFact|date=May 2007.

* Malcolm O'Kelly wore Templeogue school socks while playing for the Barbarians.
* The school is one of the original trial runs for the Campbell Catering IQ: Intelligent Cuisine cafeterias. This cafeteria offers a variety of healthyFact|date=January 2008 foods.
* A number of students from the 2007-2008 Fifth Year went on a Business/Cultural trip to Boston and New York City. The students had to prepare a mock tourism project and present it to the Consulate General of Ireland in both cities.
* Numerous school exchange projects accommodating pupils from such countries as South Korea, France, and Spain are run regularly.
