WSNA is a Rhythmic Adult Contemporary radio station. It is licensed to Germantown, Tennessee, and serves the Memphis area. The station broadcasts at 94.1 MHz frequency.

WSNA is a Class C2 FM station. It transmits with an ERP of 50,000 Watts. Its tower is just south of the Mississippi state line, near Olive Branch, Mississippi.

History

The station was originally WLVS-FM (named in honor of Elvis Presley) and had offered an Rock music format when it signed on in 1978, when it was at 94.3. That was until 1983 when it flipped to Beautiful music as WEZI, but would drop the format by the end of the decade for Oldies as WODZ and by 1992 they would switch frequencies to 94.1. In 1993 they would go Country as WOGY, where they would continue in that direction until 2001, when they flipped to Adult Top 40 as "94.1 The Buzz".

After the station's incarnation as the Buzz had run its course and ratings were low, owner Entercom, which had just purchased format rival WMC-FM in August 2006, opted for a new format being tried nationwide. This rhythmic version of adult contemporary is being dubbed "MOViN'" in many markets. Entercom named 94.1 "Snap," since "MOViN'" is a trademark not owned by Entercom. The Rhythmic AC format is the first ever for Entercom, who now joins Clear Channel, Bonneville, Trumper, Emmis, Renda, CBS Radio, and Sandusky in embracing this "feel-good", upbeat genre.

WSNA is one of six radio properties in the Memphis market held by Entercom; the others are WMC-FM, WRVR-FM, WSMB-AM, WMC-AM, and WMFS-FM. WSNA maintains studios in the Entercom complex in eastern Memphis.
