Kippa-Ring is a residential and light industrial suburb of the Moreton Bay Regional Council at the center of the Redcliffe peninsula, approximately km to mi|num=27|abbr=no|spell=Commonwealth|precision=0|wiki=yes north-northeast of Brisbane, the state capital of Queensland, Australia.

History

The suburb's curious name is a combination of the Kabi indigenous word "kippa", meaning young uninitiated man, and ring, a reference to a bora ring. Attractions and features

Kippa-Ring is home to the Peninsula Fair Shopping Centre, as well as Kippa-Ring Village shopping centre, both of which are side by side. Peninsula Fair houses one of the first Kmart stores in Queensland and the only multiplex cinemas on the Redcliffe peninsula, the Australian Multiplex Cinemas with eight screens.

One infamous feature of Kippa-Ring is its location as the terminus of the much-promised QR Citytrain train line to Redcliffe. Instead, the cheaper alternative of improving existing bus services, and the addition of a T2 lane on most of busy Anzac Avenue from Kippa-Ring to Rothwell, had been chosen.
