ZetaBoards is an upgrade-able forum software to
InvisionFree , a modified version ofInvision Power Board version 1.3 [Stated in footer of any InvisionFree forum: "Powered by Invision Power Board v1.3 Final © 2003 IPS, Inc."] that has been and still is hosted and supported byZathyus Networks . Zetaboards, however, was designed from bits of code from IPB 2.3, with many codes ripped fromInvision Power Board . It is remotely hosted as opposed to being downloaded. Information regarding ZetaBoards was made public in March2006 .Development
ZetaBoards had been in development for several years. Zetaboards underwent a closed beta test in
October 2006 , using selected members and staff from the InvisionFree Support Forums. Then onJanuary 21 2007 , a temporary board for ZetaBoards was opened for public testing. Approximately two months after onMarch 3 2007 , people were able to register their own test board. Limitations of ZetaBoards include the lack of
FTP access, editing restrictions and inability to access theMySQL database directly, as the software is remotely hosted.Google AdSense is present on all forums to allow for the free cost to forum admins to host their forums.
