Knife and Wife

Knife and Wife

"Knife and Wife" was a surreal one-off animated British Comedy screened on Channel 4 in December 2001 concerning the misadventures of a talking Chicken and his put upon wife. Written by the infamous "Mr Biffo". The voice of Knife was provided by ex Monty Python member Terry Jones, whilst the part of his wife, Janine, was voiced by actress Jessica Stevenson. Kevin Eldon, Ruth Jones, Paul Putner and Brian Murphy also appeared. The program was part of the Channel Four Comedy Lab try-out project, which had spawned several successful series including Trigger Happy TV and That Peter Kay Thing. In this instance however, possibly because of the high costs of animation as well as the availability of the cast, no full series followed.
