Mindelo Infos is an Internet website that was first launched in 2002 in the time when Mindelo was the cultural capital of a nation where the Portuguese language is the official language. The centre is located in Mindelo in the island of São Vicente. The centre is located in the downtown area. the internet address is at mindelo.info and it is in French.

Information
Online dictionary
The website includes the French-Cape Verdean Creole (according to the São Vicente Creole) online dictionary and contains nearly 5,000 words. The same section also includes grammar from the most famous poems and songs including one from Sergio Frusoni, numbers, and more.
Images
Images are also featured in Mindelo Infos and separates in two, forum and album. The forum section features selected images from different parts of the archipelago. The first image in the album section was added around 2003 and it only had about 100 images, it later rose to hundreds in 2005 and much of these images were about the islands, it skyrocketed to nearly 1,000 in September 2005 with images related to the island of Santo Antão, images were later added between the Spring and the Summer of 2006 including images related to Blue Discovery and exploded to over 2,000, recent images related to the 2006 Baia das Gatas festival, art, people, children and more on Santo Antão and Sal were added into the album. The album currently has nearly 2,600 images at the 2,600th link, second to ecaboverde.com and ahead of cabo-verde-foto.com.
The album section are divided into several categories, nine of the inhabited islands of Cape Verde (Santa Luzia is not inhabited), Mindelo, the biography section and the other section which includes famous works and art. The latest images are also seen with the first four recent images shown on the page.
The history of image views on the album section were at around 100,000 in the mid-20th century, around 150,000 in the later part of 2005, it later to grew to 300,000 in the early part of 2006, around 500,000 in the summer of 2006, and recently 700,000 in August 2006 and around 800,000 near the end of September 2006 and it hit the one million mark on December 2006 with additional images on Maio and Santiago especially the settlement Cachoeiro near Assomada, recent additions include several from São Nicolau, the first images from the rocky Razo Island and the northern half of Santo Antão. Images were added from Mindelo, the islands of Maio and Sal as well as several people and music. It presently has over 2,400 images and 1.3 million image views since the launch of the website.
Maps
The map section includes the city plan of Mindelo. In the mid-20th century, images and information on the island of São Vicente were later added. Examples includes Mindelo, its famous points and capes, several mountains including Monte Verde and communities including Calhau and Topim.
Music
Also on Mindelo Infos is the biography of Capeverdean musicians which also features bio images and song titles of each track. It currently has nearly 30 musicians from Cape Verde and Capeverdeans living abroad, one of them being Bana and Bau.
History
The website was launched in 2002. The dictionary pages was renovated and the gray display became light grey display on mid to late 2006. In December 2006, the website went into major renovations, it added links that can now be also used on the top but still kept its links on the left. On the top section includes dictionary, maps, island information, and others, more information in the middle and the rest on the bottom.
