Artuma

Artuma is one of the 29 woredas in the Afar Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Administrative Zone 5, Artuma is a triangle-shaped district located near the base of the eastern escarpment of the Ethiopian highlands, and bordered on the south by Fursi, on the west by the Amhara Region, and on the north by the Borkana River which separates it from Dewe. Information is lacking on the towns of this woreda.

Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 57,330, of whom 23,851 were males and 33,479 were females. Information is not available for the area of Artuma, so its population density cannot be calculated.[1]
