Administrative Zone 5 (Formally known as Sultanate of Dawe) is one of five Zones of the Afar Region of Ethiopia. It is stretching along the eastern base of the Ethiopian highlands. It is bordered on the south and east by Administrative Zone 3, on the west by the Amhara Region, and on the north by Administrative Zone 1.
Population: Based on figures from the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this zone has an estimated total population of 349,918, of whom 199,290 were males and 150,628 were females.
