Laverton is a railway station in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located in the suburb of Laverton, on the Werribee railway line. Laverton is classed as a Premium station and is in Metcard Zones 1+2 overlap.

Location

Laverton is located between Railway Avenue and Maher Road, with station access from both via a footbridge at the Werribee end of the station.

The station consists of two platforms, in an island format, with a large brick building at the Werribee end of the station, with an enclosed waiting room, a ticket office and toilets. A large Metcard machine is located inside the waiting room, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accept notes and coins.

At the Melbourne end of the station the tracks diverge, with suburban trains usually taking the single track route via Altona, while Geelong and Warrnambool line trains take the double track route via Galvin and Paisley. A rail siding is also located adjacent to the station.

The Western standard gauge line is to the west of the station, and is used by interstate freight trains, and "The Overland" passenger service from Melbourne to Adelaide.
