Jewell is a railway station in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located in the suburb of Brunswick, on the Upfield railway line. Jewell is unmaned and is in Metcard Zone 1.
Facilities
The station is located at the southern end of the Union Street level crossing, with station access from Willison Avenue and Union and Watson Streets.
The station consists of two side platforms: Platform 1 (Flinders Street bound) has a large red brick building, while platform 2 (Upfield bound) has a smaller brick building. A large Metcard machine is located at the entrance to platform 1, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accept notes and coins. A small coin-only Metcard machine is located at the entrance to platform 2. A disused goods shed sits next to the platform 1 entrance, whilst a disused signal box is located at the down end of the station.
Tram route 19 is a short walk from the station, on Sydney Road.
History
