Boronia is a railway station in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located in the suburb of Boronia, on the Belgrave railway line. Boronia is classed as a Premium Station and is in Metcard Zone 2.

Facilities

The station is located between Erica Avenue and Lupton Way, with station access from both.

The station consists of an island platform located in a cutting, with a small railway tunnel located at the down end of the station passing under Boronia Junction. The platform has a large brick building with an enclosed waiting room and a concourse above it, with a ticket office and toilets. A large Metcard machine is located next to the ticket office, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accept notes and coins. Lifts and stairs provide access to the platforms.

History

Boronia station opened on June 19 1920. The station has been rebuilt many times due to traffic congestion and level crossing accidents on Boronia Road (situated on the down end).Fact|date=May 2008 It was upgraded to Premium Station status July 2 1996.cite journal

In 1998 Boronia station was lowered into a cutting to remove the nearby Boronia Road.
