Glen Waverley is a railway station in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located in the suburb of Glen Waverley, on the Glen Waverley railway line. Located in Metcard Zone 2, Glen Waverley is classed as a Premium Station, and is the terminus for the Glen Waverley line.

Facilities

The station is located between Kingsway, Coleman Parade and Railway Parade, with station access from Kingsway.

The station consists of two dead end platforms in an island format. The island platform has a large weatherboard building with a waiting room and a ticket office. A large Metcard machine is located at the entrance to the platforms, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accept notes and coins. Stabling Facilities are adjacent to the station.

History

Glen Waverley station originally opened on May 5 1930. The station was originally built adjacent to Springvale Road until the 1960s where it was shortened to its current location. It was upgraded to Premium Station status on August 16 1995.cite journal
