Lowest spending=1; Highest=45Oaklyn Public School District is a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through ninth grade from Oaklyn, in Camden County, New Jersey, United States. Oaklyn is the only district in New Jersey that still keeps the pre-kindergarten through ninth grade format.[3] The district consists of two separate schools within one building.
Oaklyn Public School also serves students in Kindergarten through eighth grade from Hi-Nella, a non-operating school district.[4][5]
As of the 2007-08 school year, the district's two schools had an enrollment of 418 students and 39.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.6.[1]
Students in tenth through twelfth grades attend Collingswood High School as part of a sending/receiving relationship.[6] The relationships with Collingswood and Hi-Nella have been in place for over 40 years.
The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "CD", the sixth highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[7]
