"Jyotiraditya Scindia" (born 1 January, 1971) is a member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India representing the Indian National Congress. He is also the current titular Maharaja of the Scindia of Gwalior.
Early life
Jyotiraditya Scindia was born in Mumbai to Madhavrao Scindia and Madhavi Raje Scindia. He studied at The Doon School, India, and Harvard University and Stanford University, U.S. and went on to work as an investment banker for Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley. He also gained some development experience with the UN Economic Development Cell. He interned with the UN Economic Development Cell and with Narendra Modi.
Elections
He was elected to the Lok Sabha (lower house of the Indian legislature) in February 2002 from the constituency of Guna [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guna_District] , formerly represented by his father, with a margin of victory more than 450,000. He was re-elected to the 14th Lok Sabha when he won the elections in May 2004. He was inducted in the cabinet on April 6th 2008 as Union Minister of State for IT and Communications, Government of India
Other achievements
Mr. Scindia defeated the incumbent in Shivpuri-guna byelections 2007.
