"Hoy" is the second largest Spanish language daily newspaper in the United States, the largest being "El Diario La Prensa". "Hoy" is based in Chicago, Illinois and also distributes a separate issue for Los Angeles, California. "Hoy Chicago" and "Hoy Los Angeles" are, and have always been, owned by Tribune Company.

On February 12, 2007, Tribune announced the sale of "Hoy New York" to ImpreMedia LLC, the parent company of "El Diario La Prensa," for an undisclosed sum. "Hoy Chicago" and "Hoy Los Angeles" are not affected by the transaction.
