Professional ratings Review scores Source Rating Allmusic [1] Original Soundtrack is the debut album by English dance music act S'Express. It was predominantly written and produced by S'Express mastermind Mark Moore along with Mark McGuire. Musician Pascal Gabriel co-produced the album's two biggest hits, "Theme from S'Express" and "Superfly Guy".
Released after the number-one UK success of "Theme from S'Express", Original Soundtrack contained two additional hit singles ("Superfly Guy" and "Hey Music Lover") which charted well in the UK and on the US dance chart. The album was a top-five success on the UK Albums Chart.
The tracks on Original Soundtrack are heavily influenced by Acid house and utilize many samples. Although many of the vocals on the album are from samples, S'Express was presented at the time as a group consisting of producers Moore and Gabriel with singers Michellé and Jocasta and musician Mark D. Additional vocals were provided by Billie Ray Martin. In addition, the CD included a small card insert (in the form of a cigarette card) that also credited Chilo and Linda Love (see 'Personnel').
