International Oil Company

International Oil Company

An International Oil Company (IOC) is an oil company that is majorly private owned. IOCs are opposed to National Oil Companies (NOCs), which have become increasingly dominant in the international petroleum market.

The world's leading IOCs include ExxonMobil, BP and Royal Dutch/Shell.
