David Watters is a Canadian politician who ran for office in the 2004 Canadian election as a candidate for the
Conservative Party of Canada . He is a self describedRed Tory , which he frequently links to his very red hair.He was born in
Saint John, New Brunswick in1968 and has lived in Toronto since1999 with his wife of seven years. Prior to coming to Toronto, he earned his B.A. in Political Science from theUniversity of New Brunswick , Saint John in1993 .Waters worked for
Xerox and ADP before becoming a Business Development Manager for Pivotal Business Solutions.Long involved in politics, he worked for both the federal and provincial Conservative campaigns in New Brunswick. Since moving to Toronto, he has been an active supporter of the city's Conservative candidates. He has been an executive member of the
Trinity-Spadina Federal Progressive Conservativeriding association since2000 , holding the posts of VP membership and Treasurer. He was a board member of theConservative Party of Canada 's Trinity-Spadina riding association until 2006, when he did not stand for re-election to the board after moving out of the riding.Watters won the nomination for
Trinity–Spadina in a close-fought nomination onMarch 28 ,2004 . He ran in the 2004 election againstTony Ianno , the Liberal incumbent;Olivia Chow , theNew Democratic Party candidate; Anna Costa, the Green candidate;Asif Hossain , the Progressive Canadian candidate; Nick Lin, the Marxist-Leninist candidate; Tristan Downe-Dowdoney, theCanadian Action Party candidate; andDaniel Knezetic , thePopular Democratic Party of Canada candidate.
