The BBL Pipeline (Balgzand Bacton Line) is the first
natural gas pipeline between theNetherlands and theUnited Kingdom .History
Laying the pipeline between the
Noord-Holland compressor station atGrasweg inAnna Paulowna (province of Noord-Holland) and Bacton terminal started on14 July 2006 . The pipeline became operational on1 December 2006 .Technical description
The overall length of pipeline is convert|235|km|mi of which offshore pipeline is around convert|230|km|mi. Pipeline diameter is convert|36|in|mm|-1 and working pressure is 135 atm. The initial capacity of pipeline is 16 billion cubic meters (bcm), which will be increased to 19.2 bcm by the end of 2010 by installing a fourth compressor at the compressor station at Anna Paulowna.cite news
