continental shelves , preferably over muddy bottoms, and especially in estuaries. It feeds mainly on small fishes including younghammerhead and sharpnose sharks, andshrimp s. It isviviparous , with 2 to 7 young in a litter, the size at birth being between 31 and 40 cm. It is utilized fresh for human consumption and processed for fishmeal, and liver extracted for oil.References
