San Diego State University College of Business Administration is recognized as one of the best Business Schools in the United States. SDSU offers a state-of-the-art curriculum, an outstanding faculty, over 130 different courses to choose from, and excellent opportunities to work with the San Diego business community.

In addition to offering a great academic program, San Diego has a dynamic business community. San Diego is a hotbed of entrepreneurship in biotech, telecommunications, software, and several other high growth industries. This gives SDSU students the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge they acquire in the classroom to exciting business situations. San Diego was recently picked by "Fortune" magazine as one of the World's Top 50 Cities for International Business.

The mission of SDSU's College of Business Administration is to create a learning environment that fosters excellence in business education through innovative programs, applied learning, research and collaboration with the community.

The Dean of the College is Gail K. Naughton, PhD, a noted biotechechnology entrepreneur and founder, director and formerly President of Advanced Tissue Sciences, Inc. of La Jolla, California. Dean Naughton is the first female biotechechnology entrepreneur to lead a major United States university business school.

In June 2008, SDSU received a $10 million gift to name the university's nationally recognized school of accountancy the Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy. This gift, among the largest in university history, was made by Gertrude Lamden in honor of her late husband, Dr. Charles Lamden, who was instrumental in launching SDSU's College of Business Administration.
